Zarah is wrong, of course. The conference, via Emily's skeets, has been an absolute delight. It could make a breeze block giggle.
Zarah Sultana uses Your Party Conference Day Two address to talk about how unacceptable the Your Party Conference Day One was.

This is meant to say "2/3 majority", but it looks like the free trial of the streaming software Your Party are using does not allow small digits?

The "2" and the "3" have been replaced by a logo that appears to read "Trial Only" with a URL.

I know I’ve said this before but I keep finding it very funny seeing people (mostly Americans) reacting to all this by saying “Wow Zarah Sultana needs to get out of that toxic party and join the Greens”, like saying Keith Richards needed to escape the Rolling Stones because they had a drug problem
Chaos has engulfed the first 24 hours of the inaugural 'Your Party' conference in Liverpool, with Zarah Sultana boycotting the first day of the event, Jeremy Corbyn facing "witch-hunt" allegations, and an entryism row

Not just breathtakingly stupid, but dangerous. Fucking appalling rabble of pricks.
ah yay yes, let's bring in the rape apologists

I didn't intend to start the day subskeeting criticism of Carl Douglas, but not only is Kung Fu Fighting brilliant, its detractors would have to admit it's not even the worst Carl Douglas song with "Kung Fu" in the title.

I watched the BBC Dracula while drinking whisky during lockdown. At the start of the 4th episode, I thought "wow, weird decision to set this one in the USA...And where's Dracula?...This episode is pretty derivative of It Follows." It took me half an hour to realise iPlayer was set to autoplay.
Accidentally started watching Pluribis from episode 4 and was greatly admiring that it didn’t fuck around and got straight to it then towards the end I thought “wait when do they flashback to the whole setup” then checked and thought “balls” so now in two minds on whether to watch the first three.

I really hope I get to see Neil Young mark the occasion of his first show in Wales by playing his first show in Wales, backing himself.

Adored was a Pete Garner (or possibly Squire) melody. Mani played it brilliantly, and he improved it, but it's pretty much there on the 1985 version, before he joined the band.
Worth remembering that when you’re humming the greatest Stone Roses songs - Resurrection, Fools Gold, I Wanna Be Adored - you are humming Mani’s bass melody. Not Squire, not Brown, but the bass line

Terrible news

When I first picked up a cheap 1970s acoustic guitar with slightly rusted strings about an inch from the fretboard, the first things I tried to play were Mani's basslines.

I feel so sorry for his sons, losing both parents so young.

For me, this is probably Tue second most annoying one.
ME: Thank you!

AUTOCORRECT: I see that, once again, you are attempting to write the uncommon phrase “Ty Hank you”. Let me help you with that.

They aren't alike though. That comparison always seemed to be based on having two guitarists more than how they actually sound. The Strokes were more like The Cars, bits of the Velvet Underground and A Salty Salute by Guided by Voices.

The best Chelsea Hotel fact is that the last ever guest at the Chelsea Hotel before it closed was Reg Hollis off of The Bill. He refused to leave and called the cops
More fantastic Arena documentary on BBC Four right now. The Chelsea Hotel in New York this week, and of course Quentin Crisp has turned up.

I'm a friend of BRYAN FERRY!

Adam & the Ants were incredible, and a big influence on several other bands I love (no Elastica, Suede or Blur without Adam), though none of them were anywhere near as funny. I could happily listen to a compilation of nothing but Adam's count-ins.
Adam Ant is 71 today. Hard to emphasise how seismic this was in playgrounds across the country in 1980. For a period he was as big as any act has been. Was he the perfect pop star? I think so. It couldn't last but if you were there you'll never forget it.

I'm going to a liquid roast dinner for someone who is temporarily unable to chew (chicken soup, carrot soup, pea soup etc) so today I made a stuffing soup, which I will serve with bread sauce on the side.

Sadly, this hasn't been standard for maybe 20 years. Nick Davies was writing about it in 2008: "A section editor on a national daily told them: '[...] It's quite common for us to cut and paste a story off PA, [...] mask where it's come from and then put it out there as our own.'"
And yeah I know the AP is a wire service, but the standard is that you ACKNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTE WHATEVER YOU GOT FROM A WIRE SERVICE.
So the Daily Mail seems to have copied, seemingly with no attribution, large chunks of an @apnews.com article in which I'm quoted about the AWS outage, & someone else quoted *DM* as having quoted *me* and I goddam definitely did not give that quote to the fucking mail. Just bad form, or actionable?

I was talking to my friend about The Cribs doing a tour with the 'House of Jealous Lovers' hitmakers and she thought that's why so many people had recently been posting about The Rapture. If only.

I'd visit the site of every "Mrs Baggit says please take your litter home" sign.
What policy themed visitor trail would you do upon retirement? I would pilgrimage to visit the 100 Rishi Sunak outdoor chess sets around the country. I genuinely think it would be one of those fun random things that would take me to places I’d never otherwise go to
