Former College Player- New England Region Scouting- Player Development- Video Analysis
Only potential worry I have is those players do have to tend to block a lot of shots so I’m not sure if having one of the more talented young players in the line of fire would be super ideal. Like you said though he has the agility and anticipation that he could steal some pucks.

That’s a unique idea, I don’t hate that at all. The p.k right now is tied for 10th in the league and has been pretty solid so far. So I probably wouldn’t touch too much at this moment in time but I think you might be onto something there haha.

Couldn’t agree more, you learn more about yourself and team when you lose. Clearly Marty and the staff saw the issues that needed fixing and have honed in on it.

He likes to get involved in the forecheck and be physical. He has a good motor he just needs to be taught when and how to use it. Overall I love his skill and drive. I think he has top 6 forward skill written all over him just needs some direction away from the puck.

The thing is though the off the puck play and d-zone isn’t for lack of effort. I just think his IQ in that area isn’t there yet. If an NHL team is understanding that it’ll be an area to really focus on and work with him it could definitely improve. Can see him battling for pucks all over.

The thing with Carbonneau for me is the off the puck play. He is just raw when it comes to d-zone IQ and is trying to stretch the zone at times when he maybe shouldn’t. In this clip we see how he gets caught way too close to strong side as the weak side winger. Leaves far side D with a lane.

His skating is solid, I feel that he could grow there some more but when he gets going and the hands are going he is very scary for defenders on the rush. Passing is solid as well but sometimes is forcing plays.

UConn player ran into him after he scored and hit Fowler. Fowler responded with a punch to that guy haha.

Top 5*

As Habs fan I’d take any of those top 4 but personally ranking them I have;

1. Martone
2. Schaefer
3. Misa
4. Hagens
5. McQueen

Hadi, who would be a good comparable for Carbonneau you think?

Love to discuss prospects/hockey and do some video breakdowns of prospects when I have the time. I also unfortunately am a habs fan so apologies in advance for that if you’re here for prospect talk. Looking to potentially start podcasting soon so stay tuned for that!
