From an article about these photos by Alejandro Cartagena:

“The artist, who works and lives in Monterrey, Mexico… has been researching and imaging urban sprawl and its impact for the last decade in photographs that mix a luscious kind of composed beauty with deep human interest.”

A short film about an artist whose beautiful detailed work I have admired since I was a kid. I first learned about how wood engraving works by seeing his working process. I was impressed by the detail and interested to find out about another method of printmaking.

Canada must speak up against the arbitrary detention of travellers. Canadians and other nationals have been kidnapped by ICE.
These are not the actions of a democratic nation.
This is the creep of fascism.
I am calling on Canadians to avoid all travel to the USA.

What a cake design!
This scene in Star Wars terrified me as a kid
I remember it being unpleasant & a lot less fudge-y.

Trump claims DOGE found $8M in wasted spending on "making mice transgender."

It was actually $8M for transgenic mice, used to study gene function or generate models to help cure genetic disease in humans.🤦‍♂️

Greg Curnoe, America, 1989, lithograph

“In redrawing the map of North America, Curnoe may well have been aware of the 1929 Surrealist map of the world by an anonymous artist who redrew the continents, eliminating the United States completely.” (1/5)

This is a thread -
Where are the defenders of the US as Elon and nameless private agents infiltrate US agencies, commandeer US servers, steal US data, seize US money, march US officials from US buildings? Who sallies forth from the FBI? The CIA? Congress? DoD? The media? This is a coup—and America appears defenseless.

The whole speech Justin Trudeau gave was excellent.
The catalysts for it are so problematic and disappointing - to put it mildly.
Incredibly moving Justin Trudeau remarks:

"We have fought and died alongside you....During your darkest hours...we were always there. Standing with you, grieving with you, the American people....Canadians are a little perplexed as to why our closest friends and neighbors are choosing to target us."

A gay guy, a Black man, and a woman walk into a flight deck— that’s not the beginning of a joke, but just a regular day at work! There was so much DEI on this plane that we could hardly get in the air. Luckily my limp wrists were able to wrestle the heavy jet back to the ground 💅🏼

On the way back from a Saturday afternoon hike in the woods. Fresh tracks in powder snow. The dog was happily running + frolicking, and rolling and sliding in the snow. Loved the cold temperatures and sun, then clear sky with lots of stars later on

When a single billionaire can accumulate more money in 10 seconds than their employees make in one year, while workers struggle to meet the basic cost of rent and medicine, then yes, every billionaire really is a policy failure.

Rest In Peace David Lynch. Thank you for inspiring me to become an artist, and for showing me the importance of focusing on the joy of doing the work itself, not what may come from it.

See you in the trees.
