If we go from "I appreciate you" to blocked in total 3 messages, none of them expressing disagreement or disapproval, democracy has very little chance of surviving.

If each of us turns their backs on others at the first differing opinion, we'll all be in a perfect filter bubble alone.

Spotify has laid off thousands in recent years, while reportedly paying artists $0.003 per stream.

Spotify profits rose 28% in Q3. Its CEO is worth $9.8 billion. It's making money off ICE recruitment ads.

Don't you think it's time put a wrap on corporate greed and exploitation?

Watch shows about other crafts and see how you can apply that to your craft
I'll admit that I occasionally watch Forged in Fire (a reality show where people make edged weapons under time pressure—don't judge 😄). One of the things I find particularly interesting is how the contestants continually make the same mistakes that brought down contestants in previous shows.

Wouldn't it be lovely, if stopped wind turbines would have different signal lights for being paused due the power network/storage limitations?

That would make the infrastructure debt more visible for all of us.

Drilling deep into the 'why' and 'what' of your needs brings you really close to the right 'how' of your implementation. That is why time spend on requirements is so important.

This is like, if we said we'd donate a coin or two, if needed.

That's what global billionaires committing to $300M corresponds to.

Someone seriously should turn this into a song. How about it, @daftpunk.bsky.social ?
Basic principles for the future of the car in cities:

✅ Fewer
✅ Smaller
✅ Slower
✅ Cleaner

This can be achieved with:

✅ Parking controls
✅ LTNs
✅ Road User Pricing
✅ Pedestrianisation
✅ Default 20mph roads
✅ Improved public transport
✅ Segregated cycling

Saying the Superintelligence Statement is a distraction from the havoc GenAI is creating, is a distraction from the fact many of those same people called to pause GenAI development.

What happened? The call was ignored.

I keep beating this drum: the kind of people one thinks of as Silicon Valley "techbro" are so often finance people with an engineering cosplay habit, not actual technologists

Elon Musk was famously *never* a good coder and I can't believe he ever scienced a rocket either. But he craves that respect
the worst part is that for the people at the top "good at math"/sciencey is essentially a vibe one socially codes their way into by being minimally competent at informally discussing things actual math/science people do, unless (e.g.) Elon Musk has proven a theorem I didn't hear about.
I think the belief by the powerful that "people will put up with many things if you are excellent at math" is incredibly revealing in terms of understanding How We Got Here

Didn't make it to a library today, but repost, reply or post about libraries if you did!
It’s another Saturday at the Library!!!

I am nestled amongst the books and may never come out.

An ideal existence if I’m being honest.
