We could just be reading great books, watching good movies, and eating fruit. Instead we have to survive/fight miserable power hoarders. What a waste of limited time.

Ida Wells was born enslaved but refused to live in fear. She wielded the power of the press to expose America’s greatest terror—lynching. When the truth made her a target, she didn’t back down. She co-founded the NAACP, fought for Black women’s voting rights, and left a legacy of resistance!

Let me be clear about something. The goverment does not give a shit that you write closed door romances. At the end of the day, the crackdown on Romance is not about sex. It's about control.
I am seeing a lot of pornography bans come up in a lot of states and shocker romance is not exempted. Your need to protest loudly that romance is not porn is 1) not true because you are selling a romantic fantasy with added sexual fantasy on top of that. www.oklahoman.com/story/news/p...

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.

This bill in OK is exactly what Project 2025 threatened: to make all pornography illegal, and criminalize the people who make it, using a WILDLY broad definition of pornography, which would include any book with sex in it.

We're talking jail time for romance authors.

Stop fucking saying he blamed “DEI,” which is some abstract, non-tangible idea. He is blaming people of color having jobs he thinks they aren’t qualified for. He’s blaming race. He’s being racist every time he says it. Journalists need to get fucking backbones, my word.

A very smart colleague just pointed out the grim truth that the U.S. leaving the WHO may ultimately be a win for the rest of the world. Why? Because without a vote, “the US can't block WHO actions like vaccine programs, disease surveillance, contraception, etc”. Man, that is daaaark, but accurate.

I want to talk about how she’s using similar talking points as Book Banners she condemning explicit Romance with illustrated book covers. And I don’t think it’s an accident.
