some baseball, some basketball, occasionally hockey and football. And music. I’ve worked in and around baseball for 35 years. Also: basset hounds
Up 3 runs these Dodgers fans aren’t quite ready to get too excited.

Dodgers: if the plan is to give up outs for the 9th batter in the lineup I’d rather have Kim than Rojas.

For those of you wondering why Henriquez wasn’t used more in the regular season- this is it. He gives up a hit an inning and occasionally throws a pitch no where near the plate. He can be trusted vs, say, the Rockies but he’s not to be trusted in crucial situations.

Okay…the pitch to Varsho was a bad call. BUT the call was not a “delayed” call. That’s Mark Wegner’s strike call. Every umpire for better or worse works at a slightly different pace. Some are even slower than Wegner’s but there is no uniform strike call by MLB umpires.

If the Blue Jays win does that mean that tariffs on goods from Canada go up to 20 percent?

The Dodgers starting staff (performance) in the NLCS was an aberration. All year the Dodgers bullpen gave up runs in bunches just like tonight. As in the regular season, the Dodgers can only win when they can out hit their bullpen.

Anyone who thought the Dodgers were a lock to win this World Series has not seen the magnificent “stylings” of the 2025 Dodgers bullpen.
October 25, 2025 at 2:30 AM
You knew this would happen with the Dodgers it’s SHOCKING right? How can this team not have added a trustable reliever at the trade deadline was crazy. And I no I don’t count their deal for Brock Stewart from the Twins as a real deal.

Dave Robert’s managing in the 9th is not understandable. The only way Treinen should have been in this game would be if the Dodgers were ahead by 6+ and facing the bottom of the lineup. I have to wonder if this was a feel move or dictated from above?

With regards to the intellectually deficient RFK jr- the only weapon I saw in school was wielded by a nun, as they smacked me across the knuckles for chewing gum in class.

Nevada is probably going to lose to Penn State by 50. I’m just glad Nessler and Danielson are pronouncing Nevada correctly.

I really can’t add too much to the NEWS but I hope the plucky kids have registered already. Oh and I’m happy that so so many of folks just this side of the crazee will be upset with more camera shots during Chiefs game. Our best to the Swift-Kelces.

I’ve been to a Cracker Barrel exactly once (in Nashville pre 2020). It was fine, though it was way understaffed. That people are going nuts over a logo change is beyond comprehension. The place I’ve eaten most at is In+Out. If they changed their logo, I would shrug and say c’est la vie.

Well I’m glad I saw the Dodgers (in person!) win the World Series in 2020 and 2024. Not going to happen in 2025- a team cannot lose a 6 game series against the Angels. The Dodgers: pretenders, not contenders.
August 14, 2025 at 4:44 AM
A Dodgers pitcher throwing 80 pitches over 4.1 is now known as throwing a “(Blake) Snell”
August 14, 2025 at 3:41 AM
If the Dodgers can’t beat Kyle Hendricks- might as well call the season a wrap.
August 14, 2025 at 2:29 AM
The Dodgers just don’t play the Angels well. No reason- maybe playing down to the competition? Either way just a listless game tonight worthy of losing a game in the standings.
August 12, 2025 at 3:55 AM
I’ve spent so many baseball Friday nights over the past 20 plus years watching the Dodgers- if it weren’t for the pitch clock, tonight’s game vs the Blue Jays would be a 3 hour 20 game if lucky.

So shortly after my last post the Dodgers acquired “bullpen” depth in Brock Stewart. I immediately looked to see how he would fit into the bullpen. He’s had TJ, he’s been plagued by elbow and shoulder injuries. He’ll fit right in.
July 31, 2025 at 7:52 PM
It’s okay if the Dodgers don’t trade to improve the team today. In the playoffs, teams always work better with a 6 man rotation with pitchers that can pitch of perhaps max of 5 innings (if lucky) and a bullpen full of guys with injuries. It’s all under control right?
July 31, 2025 at 7:45 PM
Apropos of mostly nothing: if you’re driving down the highway at night looking for a baseball game to listen to, try an Orioles game. The team is bad now but Geoff Arnold and Brett Hollander (sometimes Melanie Newman) are really fun to listen to. Some of the best baseball on the radio!
July 22, 2025 at 3:05 AM
Also as the slow march to the Dodgers getting swept by the Brewers continues on, at least I’m not, say, a Pirates fan- a team that just got swept by the White Sox.
July 20, 2025 at 10:37 PM
With Freeman now hurt for however long- let’s remember that the Dodgers are in this spot because they have a penchant for signing only pitchers with injury historys and then are surprised (surprised!) that they end up with pitchers appearing in games with spring training uniform numbers (60+)

MLB Home Run Derby: do you get extra swings if your pitcher falls off the ramp that seems to be way too small?
July 15, 2025 at 1:55 AM
Things I learned from the Dodgers game the past 2 days: playing the Astros is much harder than beating up the Rox and ChiSox. And the Dodgers PHing E. Ruiz vs Josh Hader seems unfair.
