Leapfrogged with this huge bus for two miles down Lincoln Ave. The bike lane is hardly large enough for me in my cargo bike (especially with how drivers act here) and the car lane is definitely not large enough for this tour bus. Wish we had parking protected bike lanes here!

This was this weekend for my family of 3, getting our favorites from Trader Joe’s which isn’t our closest grocery store. So we go every 3 weeks or so and stock up! However, this is pretty close our typical size of groceries for a week, too. Below are some photos of just a typical week by bike.

Pretty sure all of CPS participates in the EPA idle-free schools program. We have signs at Nettelhorst that state that it’s against the law to idle near the school bc of an IL statute (625 ILCS 5/11-1429). We are actively working with our principal to educate parents & stop this. It’s exhausting.

It’s a rainy/windy day, which usually helps with the air quality around the school. However, it’s bad this morning. DLSD & Inner LSD are backed up, which means all that cut through traffic on Aldine for DLSD is sitting, creating bad air quality around the school, while the doors are open for arrival

Thank you to the friends who spent their own 💰 to provide jump ropes, hula hoops, chalk, & benches. We know that it has been successful bc we saw it with our own eyes & spent our money there.
