I'm not sure how to succinctly explain the importance of librarians for research/advancements. Librarians in academic/research libraries manage physical/electronic collections that faculty/researchers need. Librarians also locate difficult to find articles/resources (think interlibrary loan).

I'm not religious in any way, shape, or form, but I stand with Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde. Her message was a plea for mercy and kindness, and it was met with hatred and malice. If there IS a hell, it's not nearly a terrible enough place to send that psychopath.

I worked in healthcare for 20 years. At one point in my career, I would go with a physician to assist in exams at various nursing homes. The horrors I saw in some of them will never leave my mind. Part of the problem is that the people who work in this field are not paid accordingly.
