If you are a Democrat in the Tennessee 7th, you have a chance to do something incredible starting tomorrow as to the special election on December 2nd

The Republican Party appears to be collapsing there, perhaps in part because it is trying to starve everyone
Turnout was down 75% in Middle TN U.S. House special election, particularly in GOP strongholds • Tennessee Lookout
Turnout in the special election primary for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District race was down compared to the 2024 General Election.

So many people fear “socialism” without realizing they already cheer for it — farm subsidies, disaster relief, the military, police, fire departments, public parks and roads, libraries. It’s all collective pooling of resources for shared benefit, small-s socialism inside a capitalist system.

Not a single dime to should go to bailing out these OpenAI hucksters. Even if we did, it wouldn’t be enough— the energy requirements are too high. Trump boasted about building a “Manhattan-sized” data center yesterday. If that’s where we are now, we’ll need a spare planet by the end of 2030. Thread👇
Energy requirements for AI mean that the only way for the bubble not to burst would require companies to multiply their carbon footprint to an unimaginable degree. Right now, while AI is barely functional and mostly a novelty for the lazy, it requires so much energy that data centers rival cities.

So it was the Ariane launch from French Guiana! I didn't realize we could see it two hours after the launch!
Astronomy/meteorology people, silly question...do you know what I saw in this pic, the swirl in the center? Taken in southern Rhode Island, looking to the west/northwest. Timestamp 6:02 pm EST (UTC-5).

I thought maybe a launch but the only launch I could find was 6:02 pm UTC-3, from French Guiana.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.
