I have been struggling for the words but you nailed it. We have rejected science, education and expertise and have embraced mediocrity.
The saddest thing about all this is what a gnarly slap in the face and kick in the ass it is to so many amazingly qualified people currently able to serve in the position. It just shows you how bottom of the barrel we have become. Striving for mediocrity.
