Failure to effectively communicate

Teen presented to ED with chest pain and shortness of breath. A CXR was reported below but the pt/family were led to believe it was normal and discharged home. He died 3 days later.

If a patient presents with an orthostatic headache after a recent lumbar puncture, MRI of the total spine is usually not warranted!!!

Thanks, your friendly neighborhood neuroradiologist, now supported by new ACR Appropriateness Criteria: doi.org/10.1016/j.ja...

Now that there's been a big influx of people in radiology and medicine over here, consider running Sky Follower Bridge to check the old place and match them up with people here.

If you've run it before, run it again! It may surprise you

Perhaps what I love most about #radiology is the vulnerability & trust of one human, my patient, allowing me to look inside w hope that I can help. We are both reduced to our common humanness, without judgement or discrimination. Simply one helping another. I find peace in that.
