The Prime Minister could not bring himself to acknowledge the genocide in Gaza during his one-hour conference speech.

We know why: if he did, he would be admitting his government's complicity in the greatest crime of our time.

End all military cooperation with Israel, now.

The dismal course of the conflict, dragging on from one decade to the next and from one deadlock to the next, seems to me an object lesson on the dangers and disasters which can arise when men of narrow hearts and little minds are in high places.

Under Labour’s welfare cuts, 1.3 million people with cancer, arthritis and other diseases could lose PIP.

They could have just made the very wealthiest pay their fair share.

What an absolute disgrace that they are choosing to make life harder for disabled people instead.

Currently reading "The Invisible Doctrine - the secret history of neoliberalism".
As someone from a working class background it puts into words what I have been witnessing and feeling my whole life but felt hopeless to explain. It hurts.

People from ultra-wealthy backgrounds do not have student debt.

People who became ultra-wealthy from their degrees do not have student debt.

It’s people from working class backgrounds that hold student debt.

The idea that student debt is held by the wealthy is simply detached from logic and reality.

Someone who takes out a loan to go to school is not rich. Someone struggling to pay it back is not rich.

These are working class people who are struggling.

I am really saddened by the level of vitriol and hatred being directed toward the trans community.

We are losing our common humanity. How hard is it to treat people with kindness and respect?

Trans people are human beings — and they deserve to live in dignity like anyone else.

Starmer has a huge opportunity.

The UK must be a beacon of democracy, evidence led policy, rule of law, science, reliable news, toleration and moderation in a world of extremes. It’s his for the taking.
