5/5 All in all though, I'm equal parts excited - to be working with some great people in a dynamic field - and apprehensive - about what kinds of craziness could take place in the next couple of years.

1/5 Life update: the final version of my #phd thesis has been accepted onto the #ubc thesis repository - ending my academic program!

All that's left is to wear the nice maroon and blue gown and silly hat in late May (see pic from UBC G+PS).

[MATLAB misuse]

At least I'm self aware

A snippet of MATLAB code where I use a for loop to read some transformation matrices stored in text files and write them into array variables using the "eval" function, which really shouldn't be done. I have added a comment that says "This is an absolutely atrocious way to use MATLAB and nobody should do this" as if it makes it any better.
