Quick reminder that it is still legal to kill protesters in Florida

Florida’s Trump-Loving Governor Just Made It OK to Hit Protesters With Your Car
Ron DeSantis apparently has a problem with the constitutionally enshrined right to assemble.

Just upgraded to F41 & GNOME 47. It's actually a really nice improvement! Stuff feels more modern and consistent. Especially getting rid of gnome-terminal and moving to the new one (forget the cursed name).

(listening to the mass debate right now)
WOW I'm glad I didn't vote for Deton
He's anti-wind lmao
"western mass is the future of renewable energy"
WHAT renewable energy in western mass?
That's not where the wind is!

if I have to wait for another slow remote server to take 10 minuets to do a "full text search" when searching a devel packing in apt I'm gonna do a gainer of the empire state

Being real here, I chose GNOME apps by their logo. Like if it's a properly GNOME styled logo I know it will be conherent and probably modern and good.

I really enjoy purelymail. It's just reasonably priced and reliable email. Also mailspring is a fricken fantastic email client. Those combined are a pretty perfect email experience for me. (And FairMail on my phone)

Honestly the best part of GNOME is that I can just hit the super key and type in the name of an emoji and immediately have access to it. No more emoji pickers or web searches. Also it's super polished and consistent, but I digress.

"There's been a security breach in the airport, it's gonna be a minute"

Thank you denver

It is always a good felling when you royally bork something but you have backups.

The FUTO keyboard is fricken amazing. It can do live translating when dictating to your keyboard. Fully offline! I paid $5 for an android keyboard and couldn't be happier.

Gotta say, while google messages was neglected for about a decade, it finally feels like it's getting some dev effort. Unfortunately though, the moment Apple drops RCS and Google can run an ad campaign about how right they were the whole time, they will 100% drop the project and fire the whole team.

Gotta say I have not been impressed by fdroidserver for builds in comparison to something like flatpak-bulider. It is soooooo slow to do anything. LIke I have had a build going for 15 minuets and... nothing.

I really forgot how annoying packaging for linux is
https://discourse.appimage.org/t/specify-required-glibc-version-in-appimage/2413/4
Like the whole point of appimages is to not have to deal with this... and I still can't get vup chat to run on fedora 30...

Just found out about Black Box (terminal emulator) and wow it is exactly what I've been looking for. GNOME terminal is nice... but it always feels a little off and buggy. When I ran into the focus bugs I knew I had to move on. After trying foot, kitty, and black box I know the choice is obvious.

Heyo! Here is a very beta version of my atproto based chat client on a temp domain! https://vup-chat.jptr.tech I have implemented the very basics of the atproto API for messaging and now I'm gonna build out a messaging layer on top to allow E2EE! (Any ideas or notes are appreciated (: )

Warning to devs out there. Don't use idrive e2 unless you know what you're getting into. I was using it (against the reccomendations of many many people on hackernews and reddit) for my immich storage... performance was in the 10-100 KB/s for like the past week. It's back now, but oof.

Sigh. So I switched from deluge to qbittorent because I was tempted by the pretty Web-UI. I am now suffering. Deluge had it's fair share of issues, but now I am facing memory leaks on qbittorent... That is a lot worse.

I'm working on a native atproto chat client! WIll be implementing a translation layer on top allowing two users of the client to have more features, bit still be able to chat with normal bsky users. If you have any ideas or features you'd like hit me up!

I like dart and it's consistency and null safety. But I always do find it a little funny when I define a function to return Future<void> ... Like the return is deterministic already lol
June 4, 2024 at 8:40 PM
Just swapped my deluge setup for qbittorrent w/ vuetorrent as the web GUI. I feel like I just moved forward a decade lol. Also automatic torrent handling is fricken amazing, no longer having to manually tag everything and hope it gets moved to the proper directory.

Just went through EU airport security. My full bottle of water was fine but they drew the line at ninetndo switch and drug tested it lol.

Needed to edit a super basic video the other day. I considered dropping into windows to use resolve, but decided to try out some FOSS alternatives. Flowblade worked super well and I had no performance issues on my 7640u. Very happy with how that went! It even supported hardware encoding for exports!

Heyo! Framework came through and actually updated the FW13 AMD to fix low wattage charger support! I'm super happy to support a company that actually supports their products (*cough* ASUS)
