In Sweden, the story is similar. Most of the heat demand and the vast majority of the population is supplied by district heating, whilst individual heat pumps cover most of the remaining share.

In Denmark, the highest heat supply form is district heating (+50%), which is increasingly supply by large heat pumps (as of 2023, large heat pumps and electric boilers accounted for 11 000 TJ out of 91 260 TJ of DH).
