Not an ending at all! In fact we're still hard at work tuning and building. The outpouring of support has been incredible and we're going to keep at it until we make Monsterhearts: Welcome to Drowned Lake a reality. We'll be keeping everyone updated as we progress!

Most of what we promised from our game (card mechanics, a branching storyline, teen angst and drama galore) will also be included. We’ll launch the game — at a lower price point — in the early part of 2026.

In fact, it’s coming to you even sooner than expected!
That’s right. We had so much success working on that demo we mentioned above that we’re now making a smaller version of the game, with all the bits that you know and love from Monsterhearts (Moves, Skins, Conditions, Strings).

One of the things we’ve learned is when to know that a plan isn’t working, and that it’s time to make a better plan. That’s why we’ve made the hard decision to cancel this Kickstarter campaign—but that doesn’t mean we’re not going ahead with Welcome to Drowned Lake!
