i know how that feels. I was also one of those "gifted kids" who everyone in the family piled on heaps of unrealistic expectations. It gets better when one learns to ignore the voice saying that you have to be good at something to enjoy it 🫂

Unfortunately, that is not possible for most people. The requirements for permanent residence in Canada allow only people with certain certifications and higher-earning professions to qualify. While there is a system for asylum-seekers, there is no guarantee that US trans people would qualify

3. I made that choice years ago when I came out of the closet as trans. That took real courage...a trait that is difficult to find on university boards

2. You could either a.) do what they say, and forever allow your parent to use their will as leverage to make increasingly harsh demands on you.

Or b.) Walk away from the relationship. You’ll lose out on the money, but you will live a life on your own terms.
