Want to provide charging in areas with on-street parking? Collaborate with utilities to install secondary meters on existing structures sending trenched power to EV chargers they install streetside.
That's the most complicated solution and still very possible and much cheaper than DC fast charging.

Worried about coordination between people? Then install load-sharing EV chargers which spread the same power over more plugs.
There are tons of inexpensive solutions. Right now.

Just listened to an All Things Considered piece on electric cars in Norway and while it was overall a pretty good piece,
NOT ONCE did it mention at-home charging.
Lots of discussion about new chargers at Circle-K, how taxi drivers are adapting, incentives, range, etc.
No mention of home charging.

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.
