The Anhinga, also known as the "turkey bird", "snake bird", or "devil bird". I prefer to affectionately call them "devil birds". 😈😂 This particular one was happy to pose for photos as it dried its feathers in the sun. I love the intricate patterns of their wing feathers. 🪶🪶🪶🖤

At 10:53 am, it feels like 104 degrees with the heat index. This is why we homeschool during the summer and take a fall/winter break. I'll never understand why public schools in Florida give kids their longest break during the hottest part of the year. 🥵

Florida's minimum wage is $13/hr right now. It won't reach $15 until September 2026. Still not a living wage, but it's a start.

Our local public schools in FL were already underfunded and offered no support for my Dyslexic child. Private Dyslexia schools in our area cost $20,000+++ per year. The $8,000 voucher may help wealthy families save money, but in our case, it's still too expensive and I've been forced to homeschool.
