Their Honours the Lieutenant Governor and Ms. Savage were pleased to attend a reception hosted by the Consular Corps in Nova Scotia on November 27. The Consular Corps includes representatives of over 30 countries in Nova Scotia -- working to enhance, cultural, economic, and educational cooperation.

The LtGov attended the Transgender Day of Remembrance flag raising at Province House this afternoon. This day was first observed in 1999 by activist Gwendolyn Ann Smith in memory of Rita Hester. What began as a small vigil has since become a global movement.

Nova Scotians gathered at Grand Parade for the annual Remembrance Day ceremony. The Lieutenant Governor laid a wreath in remembrance of the thousands of Canadians who have sacrificed their lives or dedicated themselves to service on behalf of the province and country.

The LtGov hosted a reception for the X-MLA's Association at Gov House on Nov 5. NS is the home of Canada’s oldest legislature & longest tradition of democracy. MLAs played an important role in a core institution which is foundational to the peace we have experienced as a nation.

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Exemplary Service Medal Investiture took place at Government House. Individuals were honoured for contributing to pre-hospital emergency medical services within the province.
