Key additional info for those who don't get a lot of trick-or-treaters. If I'm spending $17 for 55 pieces of candy, that bag better not include plain ol' Hershey's Bars.

6th graders used ratio reasoning to consider which doll body parts are the most absurd. (This project was inspired by another 6th grade teacher. Paying it forward for anyone else who might want to try. brimmermay-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/person...) #mtbos

Win Puzzle Club about Artful Knots. Ss explored knot designs from India and Ireland, learned to draw that 'S' knot that I drew on my notebooks in middle school in the 90s, and tried some Loop-de-loops from This is Not a Math(s) Book. #iteachmath #mtbos docs.google.com/presentation...

I love using the "Same & Different" routine for examining student work. Here are three we used back to back today to highlight features of graphs, including neatness, scale, indep/dep variables. #mtbos @illustratemath.bsky.social @looneymath.bsky.social

Played a game of Number Boxes (jennalaib.com/2019/05/29/o...) today with 6th grade. Ended up with these two equations with 30 seconds of class left. "But why ARE the values two apart???" 🤔 (Don't worry 6th graders, we'll definitely revisit this gem next class 😉)

Here is some 2nd grade student work showing 6 "beans" that are 10 cubes long, and one bean that is 34 cubes long. I am thinking of creating a WWDB to get at the how each drawing does or does not show the situation. Other thoughts? #mtbos #iteachmath #elemmathchat

This week's WIN Puzzle Club (opt-in puzzling time for grades 3-5) tackled rebus puzzles, secret codes and ciphers. #mtbos #iteachmath Because sometimes "What I Need" is puzzling with friends!
