I lowkey agree! It was the last generation to include everything in the series at the time, and I can really feel the love Gamefreak put into it as a whole. Unfortunately DS Nostalgia led to it being put under the bus... Hopefully 2026 will be it's time to shine...

I love Pokémon! Hot take(?) but I think Alola (gen 7) is the best generation. It has the best characters, the anime’s great and super cozy, and I love the Pokémon they introduced for the most part.
