Being an artist is being humble over and over. Not even in a bad way of being "humiliated" but trying something new, trying to grow, is accepting you aren't where you need to be. Accepting making "ugly" failed attempts. But it is sort of freeing.

ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.

Yesterday was one of the worst days I’ve had in a long time.
My brother and I spent most of the morning in the hospital because he was attacked at a bus stop on his way home from work.
He chipped a front tooth 😭 and needs a reconstruction now on top of having a concussion and other injuries.

Loving the stability of a corporate job and current perceived work life balance. But have to remind myself not to get too comfortable as this is just a stop on my journey through this life.

Made it through my first full week at the new job and clocked just over 40 hours-then had an ok First Fridays event yesterday in the KC Crossroads. I always enjoy seeing the regulars and meeting new faces!

It’s officially. I graduated from college today with my AFA with Honors and PTK, and on the Dean’s List Honor Roll.
I appreciate everyone who has been involved in this process with me💖both from close and afar. I never thought I would go to art school, let alone have a job to start after graduation.

Sometimes I think all Creatives are some flavor of ND & the NTs don't understand, and fear us a little, and so while we were imagining worlds and making Art, music & poetry, they tried to be like us but invented Bibles, competitions, Corporate Ladders, & HOAs.

I knew I would be gaining skills and knowledge but what I did not know is that I would discover new things about myself and make some really incredible friends. Memories I will cherish always. I hope to continue my BFA 1day
