SpyXFmaily's main romance really has so much potential in terms of visuals and interactions (blood washed from hands, masks pulled off in tender ways), but because the story forbids the Knowing we're not going to get those and it Kills me sometimes

They're even trying to plagiarise our solidarity
Anecdotally on twitter seeing a big shift the last few days from every AI slop account saying every other creative field is “over” and they’re in control now to now posting about how nobody likes them and it’s not fair and they’ll persevere and real artists respect and uplift eachother

I remember Dawning Realization Month for the NFT people too. Think this is going to take much longer because of how wrapped up the whole economy is in this, but it really feels like it's happening.

one thing i often tell folks who are looking for a computer on a budget; if your budget is only $400, you're way better off buying an older expensive computer for $400 that used to be $2000 vs a $400 brand new computer. yes same price, but the latter one was built to be a cheap-ass piece of shit

Every single time I think of activating the hypocrite card and returning to commercial social media something like this happens, and I'm reminded why I cannot stand right-wing spaces

Stop caving to fascism. Free yourself. Help democratic spaces flourish. It's okay. We can do it!
I'm begging any artists still using Twitter claiming it's integral to their work to just leave. It's been revealed the site works off a made up "credit score" from hell and punishes you for posting like a normal human being.

Abandon Twitter for good. It's time. It's been time.

Some really amazing threads here on the history of eugenics and the way science grows and develops

I want to add that as much as eugenics has been debunked as a science, it still affects our culture, language and our perception on identities through biodeterminism
discussed this in seminar yesterday, albeit with reference to “race science” generally. If you understand science as a historical phenomenon then the question is what was science then, not whether it would count as science now, and the implication is that what science is now is not forever, either
1. Historically, eugenics was not a pseudoscience. It was *science* Almost every scientist, social scientist, academic, etc. believed in the validity of eugenics. You would have to search far & wide to find a scientist that didn't believe in some form of it. They taught it in college!

Foucault discusses this in Archaeology of knowledge

The need for the contextualization of smaller and smaller categories to layer a deeper understanding of meaning .

And how manipulating that our of context was an epistemological danger wielded for control
