But I liked the episode. Despite these unfortunate, disappointing aspects there were moments of brilliance. I actually greatly enjoyed this season, and for a lot of reasons. My impression is you did too. Next season I want them to pay more attention to Pike and get weirder with their worlds.

Also the "evil/good" stuff was weird, and they had very little discussion as to what that actually means, like, philosophically. Should've dropped that thing entirely I think and just made it about creatures that do bad stuff (no need to explain it in pseudomystical terms). Oh well.

Too rushed, not enough time to explore the implications of everything that's happening (and there is a lot to take in), ergo less emotional weight; probably should've been a two-parter. Should've put more emphasis on the "destiny" theme throughout the season (they literally have Pike to do that!).

I have mixed feelings about it. A lot of it is actually great including but not limited to the "imaginary timeline" sequence, which was both emotionally intelligent and well executed (when they show Pike realize he's about to go on *the* mission—devastating). I agree it could've been much better.

I'm hopeful. They finally invited an actual Ukrainian on the Majority Report (with predictably good results btw). Obviously the maddening thing is that none of what is being said is new—literally just the things pro-Ukraine folks have been saying from the start. But I'm glad they're discovering it.

How about LGBT+ME as a compromise?

Also few people know or remember, but Ukraine officially (that is, through the legislature) declared its neutrality with regard to NATO back in 2010, and it only ended it by the end of 2014—way after the annexation of Crimea and the start of the war in Donbas.

No kink-shaming unless it's literally fascism.

A solid quarter of Americans are considered to be ultranationalist reactionaries, and yet the outcomes of their electoral decisions reveal that they actually have a weird humiliation fetish (and not just in terms of foreign policy but domestically as well). Donald Trump is literally that.

So these are the wheelies they were talking about.

They do, and it rules.

Signs of the Sojourner is fantastic. It's a video game about communication with mechanics that are both interesting and fun. It's very heartfelt. The art design, the music, the characters—all great and one of a kind. It's also very tight, just a couple hours long.

And, as other folks are pointing out, it makes sense thematically (with coal mining, John Henry, and the like). Although you go back a little and find a lot of weird gender stuff (e.g., some murder ballads). Today women are at the forefront of the genre—just look at its most prominent musicians.

And these were the founders of the genre! Today's bluegrass stars seem to be progressive across the board—some more openly so, others a little low-key. Also, for what it's worth, the jazz and blues influences have been readily acknowledged by the genre's founders as well.

Happy to see people mention Earl Scruggs's antiwar performance, Ralph Stanley's party affiliation, etc. Also Flatt & Scruggs covered what are considered to be Bob Dylan's Civil Rights era anthems. Some did record an occasional Lost Cause album, but those are rare and now mostly forgotten.

See? They are democratizing art already, just as promised.

Damn it, I want to go to Toronto.

By the way, did you play the DLC for Cyberpunk 2077? I greatly enjoyed Idris's performance in it. And I loved that he lent his likeness to the game too, that was a huge draw for me.

Нарешті гарна новина. Є до чого звертатися сьогодні за чимось оптимістичним.
