I feel you—‘be gay, do crime’ really hit different before we got distracted by the GOP trying to turn every win into a battleground. Now it’s more like ‘be gay, survive the dumpster fire.’

What’s a thread? Is it something I can tighten with my Leatherman? And a butch starter kit? Pretty sure that’s just a flannel, a pair of Doc Martens, and the ability to open jars no one asked you to touch.

Clearly, your kid understood the importance of keeping treasures close. I was the same way—except my stash was sticks, rocks and whatever else I could find. My parents never knew if I was building a fort or summoning woodland spirits.
