I'm Lorraine. For those who don't know me: I make games and write stories. Those stories tend to be supernatural fantasy with a dark and intriguing undercurrent. I'm a particularly big fan of vampires!

So I've finally, finally finished Hades 2 main story (I still have one thread to pull on for a character)... What a weird but beautiful experience. Apart for one (pretty major, imo) trip up there is some really beautiful storytelling in this game and it's hammered a place into my heart... 1/2

I have a lot of thoughts about Dispatch. All positive. I kind of want to write an article about it but a) I don't know where to put them these days b) I'm not done with the first playthrough yet and c) I have absolutely no idea where to start at the moment.

I had an absolutely amazing time going to see Linkin Park, supported by JPEGMAFIA and Spiritbox, at Wembley yesterday evening. A whole afternoon of great music, so many good new memories ☺️

Today the Supreme Court in the UK ruled that according to the Equalities Act, trans women are not legally classified as women, which is determined by biological sex. This was after extensive lobbying by women's rights groups 1/x

Parliament, not the Supreme Court should have decided today. I've written about why that's so problematic and why I fear today's judgment will be used to further delegitimise trans people, even though that is not what the Court intends.

Parliament, not the Supreme Court should have decided today. I've written about why that's so problematic and why I fear today's judgment will be used to further delegitimise trans people, even though that is not what the Court intends.

Yep! It's pretty good. Kingdoms has all the shades of gameplay that's easy to learn and difficult to master. Hero movement across the map is definitely key; I've already found myself tunnel-visioning on an objective and being caught out. It is scratching the XCOM itch.

He may be a villain, but I love him anyway. Or maybe I love to hate him. He is certainly a very fun character to write and "play" when I run the scenes from the books in my mind. The finale for book 2 is shaping up to be one of my favourites yet... 🤐😁
The final character to introduce to Bluesky is one of our favourite villains, Marcello. He is responsible for embracing Alethea and her fleeing to Nottingham. To find out how it ends, you will just have to read the story...

Tasha is, very deliberately, a very two-sided character, which proves a little tricky to write in quick-pace scenes with a lot of interactions with other characters. It would be super fun (and a lot of work, I'm sure) to make those scenes in a TV show, making her appear to some but not others.
With a stronger will to deal with the darkness and violence of Kindred society, it's Tasha that steps in for Cara when the pair can no longer keep a low profile. Their relationship has become quite... blurry for them over time.

Tasha is, very deliberately, a very two-sided character, which proves a little tricky to write in quick-pace scenes with a lot of interactions with other characters. It would be super fun (and a lot of work, I'm sure) to make those scenes in a TV show, making her appear to some but not others.
The dust has settled on Arcane and I think I've got my thoughts in order now. It is very, very good. Not perfect; the sheer amount going on means a couple of character arcs really tail off or never quite hit the highs of the main focus. But the story and the craft will stay with me. That is certain.

In the list of characters whose storylines I am excited to explore (which... is a lot of them, to be fair), Rubens is perhaps the most challenging. It's kind of a Fall and Rise arc that I've not really done before, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it really changes him.
After surviving unlife beneath the boot of the Camarilla, Ruben has taken full advantage of the Anarch rule of Nottingham to chase what he wants and make a name for himself. Whether he can handle the pressure remains to be seen.
