Classic tech bro assumes no edge cases, what about the guy on PTO, Medical leave dealing with cancer, in the field with no internet access…

What happens to those people?

I worked in tech (retired) I worked for several of these archtypes. they aren’t special.

CEO is just another term for asshole.

I used open office the entire time I was at Isilon, I don’t think anyone knew, I exchanged docs often.

Don’t have that issue with open office.

Just saying… The game isn’t fixed anymore. We have options.

Never used the same pay phone twice.

If the heat showed up I could just drive off, disconnecting the couplers (used 1/4 headphone jacks) leaving them there if I had to.

Youth finds a way when it comes to tech.

I could emulate a blue box with the modem, so coins were optional, and was doing *things* that might have been of questionable legality at the time.

You think my parents knew/endorsed this? Definitely not.

I was running around in 1985/6 with a apple ][ computer and 13” monochrome CRT strapped into pax seat of my VW rabbit and using pay phones with my 2400 baud modem via acoustic coupler set.

Yep, the duopoly is a central issue, and it’s passively supported by first-past-the-pole elections. I think a sensible first step is moving toward Condorcet ranked choice voting in open primaries.

This idea that parties have special powers and privileges in our elections is offensive as well.
