Freya Emerson, 35, reportedly failed to respond to your casual request for a coffee as she didn’t know how to explain to you that she was overwhelmed and unavailable without making it sound like she didn’t like you – and has felt terrible about it ever since.
AuDHD woman who forgot to text you back a decade ago wondering if it’s too late
An AuDHD woman who forgot to reply to your message ten years ago has spent the subsequent decade deliberating over how to re-instigate contact, sources have claimed.  Freya Emerson, 35, reportedly…

People saying Trump is dying or possibly dead, but I for one would urge caution, because it is quite possible a second healtbar will appear as he enters his second phase and a gargantuan centipede will burst forth from his torso, so be careful of his new sweep attacks and toxic buildup from bites.

Fuck the shovels.
When someone aks what we think about the use of AI, the first question that comes to mind is always:

But why? Why would we, or anyone really, want to use it?

Here's @mittovac.bsky.social's piece about this very topic. Please share to anyone who needs to read this ⬇️

Nothing makes more sense than you being a socialist male, trust me.

But let me reiterate, no individual enjoyment of LLMs justifies the current project of building ecologically disastrous data centers to fuel their continued speculation. There is no justifiable socialist defense of doing so.
*I* am a socialist 😭

we can have aligned politics and different interpretations on the leverage of technology

Oh that’s what you’re doing. You’re doing thing where if I’m a socialist then why do I buy clothes or whatever?

Well, there’s the usual thing that this is always a distraction tactic.

It’s also the case that building data centers for AI has nothing to do with my skeeting.

Since 2023, translators and interpreters have seen work dry up, rates plummet and their jobs reduced to editing AI-generated output. Some are leaving the field, others are considering bankruptcy. All despite any major upgrade in translation quality.

This is how AI is killing translation work:
AI Killed My Job: Translators
Few industries have been hit by AI as hard as translation. Rates are plummeting. Work is drying up. Translators are considering abandoning the field, or bankruptcy. These are their stories.

One of the most common arguments you hear from fans of generative ‘AI’ is that it’s not plagiarizing people’s work, it’s just learning like a human learns. So I’m going to break down why that’s just not true, and why it can never be true, with the existing systems. 1/

Full support to our fellow translators from AVTE.

While not being surprising coming from such a profit-oriented transnational corporation, it is still utterly disappointing and disgusting.

Using MT is a conscious 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 they make.

Ireland has had "sELf iD" for 10 years now and not one single issue that the media, government and anti-trans movement predicted has come to pass. Not one.

If it works in Ireland why would it not work here? No one who opposes it can give a good answer, because the real answer is transphobia
Ten years ago, on this day 15 July, the Irish Oireachtas passed the Gender Recognition Act 2015 (An tAcht um Inscne a Aithint, 2015).
It was a piece of legislation that allowed me to live my life authentically & I'm forever grateful.
Despite what others may have you believe, the sky did not fall in.

Yes, it's long. Yes, it's complex. Yes, it's detailed. And yes, it will make you sad unto nihilistic depression. But it's also necessary to read because AI is going to fuck the planet beyond expression. www.technologyreview.com/2025/05/20/1...
We did the math on AI’s energy footprint. Here’s the story you haven’t heard.
The emissions from individual AI text, image, and video queries seem small—until you add up what the industry isn’t tracking and consider where it’s heading next.

I am begging people, from game devs to game journalists, to regular players: Stop equivocating difficulty options with accessibility.

While difficulty options can make a game more accessible as a side effect, they are are not a substitute for real accessibility options.
If a dev adds difficulty options to make their game more accessible for players then that’s a huge win.
