A reminder, if anyone needs it today - whatever you're feeling today is valid. You are worthy of nurture and love. Be kind to yourself as well as others.

I know this can be a difficult day for many. #motherless

Anyone else utterly staggered and appalled that Justin Welby says he considers the most significant aspects of his time as archbishop to have been moments of royal pageantry 🤮 #bbclaurak

Avoiding psychodrama and click bait but quite appreciating seeing the wild screen grabs from the other place on here. You couldn't make this stuff up. Keep calm and carry on. This is the long predicted information war. Alarming stuff but we've come through worse.

In these dark dark times, I'm very comforted by sparkly lights, the moon and Venus.

Also v pleased to see Bluesky shaping up nicely to be a proper discussion platform and I might get a bit more discussion-y on here as the year progresses. But right now I'm still in holiday mode.

Looking forward to performing some of my poetry in Margate on 18 December with some ace fellow poets and musicians, hosted by Maggie Harris and Sam Weston - open mic slots available - come along.

Pretty pic for balance. Margate skies and the iconic brutalist Arlington House on the horizon. You're welcome. Don't let the bad stuff drag you down. We are golden.

So it turns out they spent £715 million on sending a grand total of FOUR volunteers to Rwanda.

For comparison, this is more than you could expect to spend on building an entire brand new hospital in the UK
In July, I FOI'd the Home Office for the full breakdown of spending on the Rwanda scheme

I was refused because the government planned to publish the data in future, and today is the day. These numbers are in millions
