Retired nerd, here for the news. Here you can expect to see photos of my gardens, sunsets, my yorkie ‘foster fail’ Freddie Mercury (adopted 10/23); my cats, Sigmund ‘Siggy’ Freud and Isaac ‘Newt’ Newton. Meow.

This era of mass grift—driven by one of the most corrupt administrations in American history—isn’t just a crisis. It’s a massive opportunity for the Democratic Party to lead an unapologetic, system-wide anti-corruption campaign.

Surely this is some sort of violation.
Most people don't use Twitter, especially senior citizens, regardless of what Elon wants to think.

I will mortgage my house to support the first politician who promised to rain hellfire on white collar crime the way we do on weed dealers and undocumented workers.
Elon Musk has been a walking SEC violation for a decade and no one cared. The entire Trump era could have been avoided if the US took white collar crime anywhere near as seriously as it does low level drug crime.

On a 2023 earnings call, Elon Musk boasted that Tesla had bagged “over 1 million” Cybertruck reservations and that “demand is off the charts.”

So why has the company still sold less than 50,000 trucks since customer deliveries began 14 months ago?

Sharing this from Alex Snider, a federal employee, with some ideas for fellow feds. "The uncertainty of this moment is disorienting—like the early days of the pandemic when everything shifted overnight, and no one knew what to do next."

Trust the Pendulum Swing
When our lives feel like they are going in the wrong direction, the pendulum reminds us that struggle isn’t the end of the story. Here’s how to trust the swing.

It really says a lot about the state of the world when this is one of the least alarming headlines I've read all day.
Asteroid's chances of hitting Earth have nearly doubled in a week, ESA scientist warns
An steroid up to 300ft wide now has a 2.2% chance of colliding into Earth. It could prompt a space mission to intercept it.

Looking out my back window never gets old. Yesterday there was rainbow over the mountains and then a new double-rainbow. It was more breathtaking than my iPhone could capture, but still beautiful.

Newt thought it was a good idea to get between my adjustable bed and box spring last night. It felt bumpy and clunky when I lowered the head until suddenly I heard a howl.

That bed couldn’t move up fast enough and I was sure I’d squished him.

He is fine, but was justly peeved at me.
