Sad mom meets manic pixie dream girl.
I don't disagree with anything in this thread, but want to note that the oldest depiction of the nativity we have represents Jesus with animals only. No women, no men. This is because early Christians understood this artwork as symbolic, not historic.

Harvested my sweet potatoes today! Was really pleased with the output after having a pathetic turnout for my regular potatoes. Also tried some stir-fried sweet potato leaves, they weren't bad! Wish me luck on the curing process!

I read a lot of G. K. Chesterton as a young person. I understand much more about his flaws now, but this passage from Heretics keeps coming back to me lately.

Aphids have devastated my potato plants in just a matter of days. They were doing wonderfully till last week when ants started farming on them. I keep knocking the aphids off manually and with water, and used cinnamon and chilly powder. Afraid to use soapy water on wilted plants. #vegetablegarden

Experimenting with ways to use our crops! Dried chamomile and different types of thyme. I also made pesto for the first time using our carrot greens!

Mourning the complete destruction of my adorable pansies by some deer that apparently have no respect for deer repellent spray or sonic deterrents by enjoying a cup of fresh chamomile tea. At least the haven't come for my chamomile (yet!).

Wow, I'm so glad you told me this about radish seed pods! I just tried some, and they're like a slightly spicy version of my sweet peas!

I didn't think peas would produce in our shady backyard, but my daughter requested them, so we gave them a shot. And already they are producing! We had our first sweet peas right of the vine today!
