St. Louis - Send a message to your unneighborly business and/or CID about their failure to remove snow as obligated by law
St. Louis is getting an early start on snow accumulation, and I’m still holding a grudge towards businesses who utterly neglected their obligation to clear their sidewalks last year. If you’d feel inspired to badger some big box stores about their sidewalks, feel free to adapt! #STL #stlouis #stlwx

I received many requests for a SNAP map, here’s an interactive map of households receiving SNAP benefits (ACS 2023 5-Year). You can toggle categories on/off using the interactive legend. The data are mapped using a quantile distribution.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Hey I love that you want to help, and maybe you hadn’t considered this before, so I say this gently and with love:

Donating expired or damaged food items (like crushed bags of chips) is insulting and hurtful. Please don’t.

Rule of thumb: would you give it to a friend?

I know this is obvious. And I know we all know this.
But if the President can raise taxes because an advert annoyed him, without even consulting Congress, then the US constitution is simply not functioning as intended.

Harvested my sweet potatoes today! Was really pleased with the output after having a pathetic turnout for my regular potatoes. Also tried some stir-fried sweet potato leaves, they weren't bad! Wish me luck on the curing process!
