I encourage everybody to support the authors who are standing up for the trans community (and that The Guardian didn’t interview) by buying their books. List here. www.assignedmedia.org/breaking-new...

As the parent of a trans kid, I know my kid better than you or the government does and don’t need either of you interfering in my family’s healthcare. Both siding this as “polarized” is enraging. Republicans spent $215 million attacking 1% of the population and are trying to erase them.

When my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimers, my father moved them across the country so I (daughter) could make all the food and do all the laundry, etc. And when the time came, I had to find memory care and move her there by myself. He didn’t leave, but he wasn’t really present, either.

Migrations is a novel with the plot listed, but it’s by Charlotte McConaghy. Are any of the other ones real, but misattributed? Fernanda Melchor has a novel entitled Hurricane Season, but the plot is not what is listed here.

Dostoevsky wrote that “the degree of civilization in a society can be judged by entering its prisons.” So many Americans can’t fathom the idea of treating everyone with humanity, and it says a lot about our country.

Lived there for a year. My husband and I used to joke the state motto should be “Connecticut: we’re near things.”

Those mashed potatoes got me through my second pregnancy. About the only thing I could manage to eat.

People are protesting and boycotting. A large protest in my city got almost zero media coverage, and I imagine that is happening in many places. Here is one article specifically related to Ukraine protests: www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

How is working for a better, safer country with equal rights for everyone not inspiring and forward looking? These people break my brain.

All I had to do to get medical care for my trans kid was to spend four years fighting for it and move 1,200 miles. Easy! And now it might all go away again.

This EO is an attack on trans kids as well. Some schools have spoken out against it, but I imagine we will see schools complying in advance as well, further endangering trans kids.
