Glad to see people continuing to find out out the same kind of thing that I did back in 2020 when my art done entirely in highlighters due to limited access to materials at the time glowed under the light of the UV bug-zapper in our living room. 😁

I once found out by accident last year that a grey Zebra marker I used for a character’s skin-tone in a piece of fanart glowed blue under blacklight. I’d actually been lamenting the lack of a UV reactive blue for my art before then so it was a fun discovery

Call me Twillister, I’ve been drawing various creatures, monsters, and miscellaneous weird and whimsical entities since before I was taught how to write my own name, and started adding blacklight-reactive elements in 2020 after an accidental discovery. #artshare
A little drawing from late 2023 with blacklight detailing, of a tiny goblinoid fae creature peeking out from behind red carnivorous pitcher-plants and surrounded by plants that are mostly my best rough impressions of actual irl bog-native species, if with just a smidge added whimsy and creative liberties. My recent Halloween-ish blacklight doodle page, including a cartoon Peacock Jumping Spider, a mossy creature with big ‘ol eyes, a cyclopean pink slime creature, a wild-haired and wooden-masked imp or fae critter peeking in from the bottom, and a handful of others on the fringes. Some blacklight reactive fanart I did of the gremlin model of VTuber AtlasAnarchy, with her neck and legs appearing to extend off the page and then reappear in spots that don’t geometrically make sense. A stylized flower and pair of hands patterned to look like they’re made of lined notebook paper, just like her design is, rest in the background, and a pair of origami cranes perch on her arm and shoulder. Y’know, if you really want to just enjoy doing art for its own sake, I really would recommend getting a blacklight flashlight, a set of highlighter markers, one of those multi-tip ballpoint pens with several colors, and a box of 96 Crayola crayons. #art #doodles #blacklight

Visited someone with an amazing home garden yesterday for a tour and spent so much time petting a very friendly dog and taking in everything we were being shown that all I remembered to get photos of was the frogs around the pond and a couple pics of a ladybug. #frogs #homegarden

Cool little treehopper I found on my shirt a couple days ago after a walk in the yard. The species name is apparently ‘Carynota mera’, looked it up in iNautralist because I wasn’t sure I’d ever seen this species of treehopper before. always a cool experience.
