My statement on what's unfolding in Los Angeles.

I am devastated by the loss of Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, in a horrifying act of violence. Our prayers are with their children and all who loved them, and with State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, who were also targeted.

Our March 2025 featured community partner is the Mental Health Association of SF whose Post Incarceration Peer Support program supports our clients w/counseling & case management to help reduce contact w/the criminal legal system. When people have support for their unique needs, everyone benefits.

After growing up in the height of the Jim Crow era, John Lewis devoted his life to advancing civil rights in the United States. He fought tirelessly to make this country a government for the people, by the people.

His presence is truly missed. Happy birthday, Congressman Lewis.

The Tsunami warning has been lifted. We will continue to operate our Emergency Operations Center to monitor the situation. Be aware there still may be large swells along the coast and avoid the water because of the possibility of dangerous sneaker waves.
