I do not care what how much propaganda Silicon Valley tries to spread saying otherwise, a machine vomiting up slop is never ever going to be art to me the way an human being sitting and making something with their soul, knowledge and skill set is.

It's not sustainable to pay for every newsletter and Patreon you want to support. I subscribe to MANY and I am going to have to unsubscribe to some because it is costing me thousands of dollars a year (over $3000). More collectivist options need to be developed.

Tonight my neighbor (okay well she's a 4 minute drive away) had us over to go into her rented wood stove cedar sauna before they take it away tomorrow. It was so awesome, my newest life goal is a proper sauna with a cold plunge.

Banger insight.
I am not the originator of this insight, but: we do not actually know what is ADHD and what is post-traumatic stress, because our society does not produce untraumatized people with ADHD.

Thread, long but very worth it.
My parents were free-wheeling Boomers convinced things were only ever going to get better, financially. They had good reason, then. They could afford a house, car, and weekly nights out on two full time assistant manager jobs at a fast food chain. But they also got caught up in emulating wealth trap

My biggest challenge in my life has been related to learning what success is TO ME. And what is "enough" for ME. Not for HGTV. Not for the way "things are supposed to be" or what mom or great grandma or anyone else would think of the dog-chewed coffee table. They don't have to live my life. I do.

But it is OPPOSITE of how my parents functioned, and it's taken me a lot of mental work to get there, and frankly - it was work I had to do by NECESSITY. I could not live an HGTV immediate gratification life. I don't live in that world. 90% of Americans don't. But you'd never guess that from media

The tech oligarchs are the most organised, determined anti democratic force we’ve seen this side of World War II

For way too long this has been ignored, elided and under estimated

A Palantir billionaire just called for public hangings.

“It's time to bring back masculine leadership to protect our most vulnerable,” writes Joe Lonsdale.

It's the year 2077. All movie studios belong to Netflix. Cinemas only play trailers for their streaming catalog. Every franchise is canceled after two movies/seasons, on mandatory cliffhangers. Nothing from before 2002 is available. Owning physical media is punishable by death. Netflix is love.

Hungry....
I am really craving warm pancakes with bacon and country fried steak with eggs and a small side of hash browns. Also a fruit cup.

Just imagining the warm pancake is comforting. It's fluffy, soft, warm, a bit nutty and with some butter and syrup. Like a soft cloud comforter
