It's honestly very simple. Someone complained and MAGA/Trump view that any complaint is a reason to act. Just like the judge said in the Comey trial, charge first and investigate later.

I'm honestly a lot more concerned about the "patriotism" of the Congress who didn't show up for work but were paid regularly.
