This comment and the amount of likes says it all. Losing allies one country at a time. 😞

Hi cousin! 👋 That is if no one has changed the tree.

This is incorrect.

Good afternoon, #genealogy #genies. Does anyone happen to have the book, Virginia Colonial Abstracts, Series 2? United States: L.O. Duvall, 1951? I am looking for the will listed on the attached image for George Everett and the information it has for him on pg 63.

A cautionary tale…

(the word king was actually sultan in the original.)

"What a beautiful diamond!"

"Thank you, it is my husband."

Okay, #genealogy genies, quick question. There is nothing about it in the Preface of the book. The mention of George Everett as a "transportee." What does that mean? Google refers to someone "banished or sent to the American Colonies as a convict," but I'd like clarification, please.

FS Full Text=Incredibly fascinating. I ran across a 1704 land deed. The beautiful handwriting, the precise legal language, and carefully noted boundary trees and waterways paint such a vivid picture of Colonial American land ownership. Even spec. mining rights, "Royall Mines", excepted of course!

This is quite the obituary from the Blairsville Daily Courier Blairsville, Pennsylvania • Mon, Aug 5, 1895 Page 1. "He was honest and upright in the highest degree, possessed a rugged and sterling character and abhorred deceit, falsehood or dishonesty of any sort." #genealogy

It is in the "Massachusetts, U.S., Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988." When reading the beginning of it, she/he wrote that the original book was in no particular order so they were trying to put it in some order.

Yes, I did find it. Her last name is very hard to make out, but it also does not indicate that she was a widow or divorced. I found some indexes where the same record is listed as Cox and Car as well but then changed to Carr.

#genealogy genies, this page is from R.R. Hinman’s book "...early Puritan settlers of the colony of Connecticut..." Is anyone familiar with it? If so, can you tell me if the men listed under Margaret Carr's listing would be related to her? They are not under a separate heading, so I am curious.

This was in a book I read and I thought it pertained to family history, although that’s not what the book was about. #genealogy

Here is mine. I hope it helps. The last run showed 9% Irish but has since been combined into Scottish to include Northern Irish.

Thank you for the ancestry chart template, @jernealogy.bsky.social. I plan to expand my chart beyond six generations since it's fascinating to compare it with DNA communities. This will help me identify any gaps and focus my research efforts more effectively.

My clockmakers were related to my papermakers. If your dad knows the Heilig clocks, those are my ancestors. Also, Rittenhouse- he made astronomical clocks. Here is one of his. Click on the Alt for the description.

My Gram had a very green thumb- it seems I inherited her love of gardening/nature.

My pic from a different era is from the '80s when I still had long hair, a slimmer body, and a tan. My family rented a beach house every summer for many years. Extended family and friends came from all over. Those were the days!

Additionally, her half-sister took a DNA test, and the results confirmed that they are actually full sisters. 👭
I am currently working with both of them to further explore this connection. It's been very satisfying to be able to help these two young mothers discover who they are.

This tickled me. 😂 As I was doing research for a client, this newspaper article popped up from The_Ithaca_Journal_1954_12_24_Page_2.
