@danielloftus.projectinfant.ie I Enjoyed your Rootstech presentations #NotatRootsTech. You provide great information, and I appreciate how down-to-earth you are. You don't assume that we understand what you're talking about.

Good afternoon, #genealogy #genies. Does anyone happen to have the book, Virginia Colonial Abstracts, Series 2? United States: L.O. Duvall, 1951? I am looking for the will listed on the attached image for George Everett and the information it has for him on pg 63.

I think #GenHour is running a bit slow; I noticed around five things popped up at once. Anyway, I’ve decided to give WikiTree another try. I looked at it many years ago, and it seems to have improved since then. I appreciate the safeguards it offers compared to FamilySearch trees.

ABC News reported Marco Rubio has been acting as head of the National Archives for weeks. This is news to everyone at the National Archives, including, apparently, the current head of NARA:

Remarkable that the Canadian Prime Minister has a better understanding of American interests than the US President.

Okay, #genealogy genies, quick question. There is nothing about it in the Preface of the book. The mention of George Everett as a "transportee." What does that mean? Google refers to someone "banished or sent to the American Colonies as a convict," but I'd like clarification, please.

FS Full Text=Incredibly fascinating. I ran across a 1704 land deed. The beautiful handwriting, the precise legal language, and carefully noted boundary trees and waterways paint such a vivid picture of Colonial American land ownership. Even spec. mining rights, "Royall Mines", excepted of course!

#genealogy genies, would a land record from 1776 constitute as a secondary source to prove a marriage? It states, "to our honoured Mother late Dorcas Royce now Dorcas Loggan of sd Woodbury as her Dower or thirds in sd Real Estate for her use during her Natural Life."

#genchat, Need to share my excitement. Gunn Library & Museum sent me a copy of a 2008 letter I found in their dig coll. In it, the writer mentions a story she heard re: the 16th-century Logans. I researched and found the story! A white woman wed a Cherokee Indian & they honeymooned at the homestead.
