Some good news for Galway's railway. The Minister of State for Transport Seán Canney announced that funding for the reopenning of the Athenry <-> Claremorris railway will be included in the National Development Plan.

Good news out of the pre-budget discussions. Fares will not be rising this year.

The Government must continue to invest in capital and current expenditure for Public Transport particularly in Galway to make up for the historical lack of ambition which has left our city totally choked with traffic.

It serves 15 other stations, connecting 127 schools, 3 universities, 5 hospitals, and making over 175k people and 250k jobs accessible by foot to a stop. An estimated 18% of passengers will use airport stop
