The financial impact will be mammoth If these eventually result in payments to HMRC. How can it be proper for HMRC to prolong their "enquiries" for such a long time? The ongoing uncertainty is causing a level of extreme anxiety...

The experience made me very unwell and has undoubtedly shortened my life. Everyday is a struggle as I work to pay HMRC the balance. I have worked very hard throughout my life...I feel angry that so much has been taken away from me

many sleepless nights thinking about the future...all of this money that I am supposed to owe

Devastating. Approaching retirement age, stress, worry - just unable to fully quantify the impact on mental health

And it seems so far this is totally endorsed by a Government who cares not for the law or what is morally right

When I walk down the street and see the homeless bedded down for the night I often reflect and feel that this will be me in a year or so. All down to trusting my trusted accountant and HMRCs blatant disregard for the UK Legal System

Have had a home visit by revenue protection within HMRC who tried to frighten me into the powers that HMRC have. Saying my home is at risk and asking how much equity is on the home!

Losing my house, my job and my ability to work and starting from scratch in my 40's is not a prospect I can face and after a lot of soul searching I seriously think suicide is a better option if it comes to that

Frustration & anger that none of the scheme operators are being targeted by HMRC when these schemes were "sold" as being above board & inline with HMRC regulations

Baically I feel like I am waiting for someone to knock on the door to assess what they can do or take from me, I have nothing to give I only own my car, no assets/cash/pensions or anything, I just wish it would all just go away

My mental health has been really poor. My relationship has ended because of my poor mental health. I now live alone and have been isolated throughout the pandemic

Mental stress for such a long time since 2011 - not knowing where I stand. I have considered suicide as a way out
The liability could be two or three hundred thousand pounds, maybe more because I participated in what was perfectly-legal schemes for so long

I was bullied by HMRC at the time of set up as I was told if I didn't pay this every month then the other £7k would be added to the settlement
This whole period has been very stressful & I believe unjust in the way it has been claimed

Disaster

Will never be able to repay and will go bankrupt and loose the house . I have declared this on my tax return every year for 7 years as advised without any questions

I feel like I have broken the law, despite the schemes I operated in being compliant when utilised. I totally understand the requirement for evolution of legislation but the ability to retrospectively apply this feels ridiculous

I have had phone calls from APN enforcement and house visits to intimidate my family and I. They would sit on my shared driveway for long periods after knocking and eventually put a letter through the door before leaving
