Published in 1950, this was the first comic book series to feature typical romance stories with Black characters that largely avoided the ugly stereotyping that was very common in many comics of the era. #BlackHistoryMonth

@nancycomics.bsky.social Thank you for posting all these "NANCY (and SLUGGO)" strips. I recall reading many of these as a kid during the 60s and 70s. They're FUN, SILLY, and brighten the various times of day.
