I’m getting so much joy from using my late dad’s kitchen tools I felt sure others would be similar. I asked and our readers answered. Kieran would’ve been 33 today. His mum still uses his pen and plectrum. www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/6666...

Today was the funeral of my dad, Ian Gould. Strangest Christmas Eve ever. I’m ending the day grateful for how well it went and for the good times.

Lovely to see so many of his @thesnp.bsky.social pals there. If you cut my dad open he would be black and yellow at his core.

Hug your loved ones x

Ian Gould 1952-2024 💔

• Earlier tonight, with my aunt Janice and I beside him, my dad passed away. I’ll post something more befitting of the father of an obits writer a bit later. For now, to the first man to hold my hand, it was a privilege to be the last woman to hold yours.•

It’s been decided after 3 WhatsApp polls & a town hall in our living room, Christmas dinner will be at home (not option B restaurant or C, volunteering at church).

Based on everyone choosing their own dish, we are eating this ubiquitous banquet…

Facebook just reminded me that four years ago today I was just waking up from the first of two ops for thyroid cancer. My goodness I’ve come a long way since then. Literally, and figuratively. We moved from Newcastle to Aberdeen, we bought a reno & I returned to journalism. What a ride!

I wondered about a lone female name on an Aberdeen war memorial. The quest to find info led to this incredible story of a plane crash, 19 women dying and all, tragically, just weeks after WWII ended.
