God I hope so, seeing all of the work that project babble has been doing has been fantastic. But it has all been mouth, not much on eyes.

Main problem here for me is the 200w tdp, I like my small form factor cases and idk a 9950x3d2 on a little noctua L9i ain't gonna be pretty.

Yeah the sketchy setups that I've rigged together are normally ductape and dreams. Did one where we used the tilt arm of a tripod as an improvised mic stand for a stereo room. Again the stereo bar was ductaped to the tripod arm.

Not even the worst I've seen, I ended up taping a falling stand to the ceiling for an overhead drum mic in a theatre pit. Without the tape it would just fall onto the drummer.

Main thing for me is looking at how conversations from, and how I can create worlds to help people connect. Hopefully (if ethics passes me 😬) I should be able to investigate different world characteristics and world design aspects and how they affect users ability to converse.

I really do hope you find that passion again because you have made some incredible worlds with so much detail and style in the texture work.

I remember back when I too was first learning about stuff, it was really fun to fail fail and then succeeded. Something that Mick Gordon said about making music is that you need to keep changing the process that you use to make things, don't stay in the same routine to make things or it gets stale.

I think it depends on a case by case basis. I find it is more how much of your passion you turn into a career, it is really difficult to find that line but you can make it work. My career as a researcher is adjacent to my career as a world builder. There is only so much crossover between the two.
