"MY for-profit social media platform operator would never do that!" How do you know? And how do you know who will own the platform a year down the line? Ten years? Can your business/organization survive if you delete your account, assuming deletion will be respected?

And maybe X's argument will fail, but even made unsuccessfully it has the potential to intimidate and exhaust account holders into giving in. Also given how things are going in the U.S., I wouldn't bet on the courts being fair to people who stand against billionaires' interests in the long term.
