Marlene Dietrich in Morocco (1930). Just radiating out of the scteen, equal parts swagger and softness (well, maybe 60/40 on the swagger). 😍

Even if you’re not fussed about cycling, you should watch this! A short summary of EF Education’s day at the Tour de France and how an Irish Brummie and his teammates found a way to take the fabled yellow jersey. Beautiful editing and a cute doggo too!
"Just have fun with it [...] race with confidence and panache, just fuck with them"

Great message from EF CEO Jonathan Vaughters to his riders before Ben Healy took the yellow jersey yesterday

For the board gamers: played Forest Shuffle for the first time this weekend. Lovely vibe - there’s something soothing about games based on nature. Simple basic mechanic; emergent complexity. Lots of iconography so it can be hard to follow everything. A lot of fun! (Pic from BoardGameGeek)

Whatever you do, don’t calculate how old George Wendt was when he played Norm in Cheers…

Definitely don’t…

[Waits while you look it up and realise that you now feel proper old]

So you’ll listen to me next time, right?

RIP George

For the board gamers among you: our first game of Hegemony. It’s superb. Looks sooo complex but the gameplay is straightforward once you get going, and there are great interactions between players with different strategies. 😍

Tis the season for #festival line-up announcements.

Do you remember when we did the thing of aiming for headliner parity? A Good Thing that now seems to have vanished, not by any political decree but presumably because of the decisions of festival organisers.

Representation matters. Try harder.

Here’s some London snow from last weekend. We now have Somerset snow too ⛄️

I can highly recommend the Electric Dreams exhibition at the Tate Modern and the F1 exhibition at Excel, if you’re in the Big Smoke any time soon 😀

This was Thursday. My beloved Bellatrix bandmates and I took the stage at the Cheese and Grain, Frome (the bar stage, not the main stage, not quite yet) and played a bunch of rowdy angry girl songs.

Thanks to all who came to boogie 💕💕

I spent most of today staring at a computer, some rooftops and a lame attempt at snow.

As none of those were particularly stimulating for the old visual cortex, here’s a picture of some tiramisu.

You’re welcome.
