The proposed Chicago city budget has a $5 million line item for a ShotSpotter replacement. Abandoning this failed pursuit would free up the funds needed to maintain 2025 funding levels at our city libraries, which would still leave the libraries underfunded but would avoid disastrous proposed cuts.

You have to understand that there is NO accountability for ICE even in theory. You can't sue an ICE agent. They won't be criminally prosecuted for violating your rights. They won't be fired. THE ONLY WAY TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM ICE IS TO RUN FROM ICE.

I had to go online to figure out what nonsense this was on about and seriously, are people so enraged to get good opsec advice from all lawyers or is it just the Black ones? Because “don’t put your names on protest lists” was old good advice when I started volunteering with the NLG a decade ago…
