Found the tweet that Joyce Carol Oates bodied Elon Musk with and it's so beautiful in its eloquent, simple take down. So much so he's crashing out trying to prove he reads books now. Put this in the Louvre.

what the “misuse” framing does is shift the onus on individual users when shit goes wrong leaving AI developers and vendors off the hook

Next time someone tells you what AI will be able to do tomorrow think about all of those years and all that science and still no one has invented cigarettes that are good for you. No such thing as momentum here. You solve problems or don’t

this is the one thing i've become way more radicalized on than most of the people around me over the past however many years. seems like a great book to dip your toe in if you're skeptical or curious

i use this corridor on my bike all the time. at least it would feel really good to blast past them. anyway idc if they're better than human drivers, cars are bad full stop!!!
Waymo robots queued for blocks through the intersection where a Waymo robot hit & ran a cyclist, for which it couldn't be cited bc of a robots-only loophole:
17th & Mississippi, San Francisco
Waymo uses this route bc they don't trust their robots on the adjacent/parallel fwy.

this is worth seven minutes of your time. i've never been prouder to give somebody my vote
The dream of every Muslim is simply to be treated the same as any other New Yorker.
And yet, for too long, we have been told to ask for less than that, and endure hatred and bigotry in the shadows.
No more.

Quarto friends! I need your help:
We are implementing a new QMD parser in Quarto. It will be super nice. But it's a big change, and we want to minimize the impact.
1. Can you share a link to your Quarto project at github.com/quarto-dev/q...
2. repost this and let your Quarto friends know too?
