An extremely important read.

Heather and Joyce are my go-to analysts. It’s important to find a way to process what’s happening and they help me do that.

Fifteenth book for the month! It’s amazing how much more reading I’m doing since I took a break from several social media platforms. #booksky

Can they even connect the dots? My guess is no.

Wow. Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde fearlessly calls out Trump and Vance to their faces. This is heroic.

I added two books to the TBR stack yesterday. Breakfast out plus a trip to the bookstore, was a fabulous way to spend a Sunday. Today, the TV is on a cooking channel, but I’ve muted it. I’m reading Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books. It seemed the perfect choice. I’m in self care mode.

I never used TikTok, so the fact it’s gone for now is not impacting me. But, I feel for those who built a presence there. In other news, today I’m venturing over to one of our independent bookstores to meet a friend and spend a gift card. What books will come home with me?

I’ll be posting exclusively here next week. I’m going cold turkey on all my Meta accounts to see how I manage.

While I’ve been trying to ignore what’s happening in our country politically, it’s seeping in and it’s depressing and scary. I waffle between wanting to stay apprised and wanting ignorance. I’m following the journalists at The Contrarian as well as The Atlantic. I’m still boycotting broadcast news.

I’ve started reading Meg Shaffer’s The Lost Story. Starts well, but when Stevie Nicks is mentioned and noted as a character’s favorite, I’m alllll the way in. It’s the little details sprinkled in as character building that get me every time.

Snow! It’s still falling and is just beautiful.
January 10, 2025 at 1:44 PM
Today’s path forward includes:
1. Continuing to explore 🦋 and engage here.
2. Due to family and volunteer commitments I can’t fully divest from the Meta platforms, but I can curate my experiences.
3. Read the 4 books I checked out on Libby.
4. Make spaghetti sauce for dinner.
5. ⛄️ building prep.

Yes, I’m excited that we should get snow starting Thursday night. Waking to a winter wonderland would be great and it would mean a chance to build a snowman!

We are under a winter storm watch in my mid-south town and I do need to get milk and eggs! Like, I’m almost out. 🤣 in other news, I’m currently reading three books and between setting up this account and having a two hour long visit with a friend, I’ve not read much today.

Here I am on yet another social media platform. Sigh. This post truth landscape is difficult to stomach.
